Fasinex 240 24%
Fasinex 240 is an oral drench that treats and controls triclabendazole-sensitive liver fluke in sheep, beef and dry dairy cattle. Fasinex 240 will treat and control both acute and chronic fascioliasis for strategic management of liver fluke.
A cream coloured aqueous suspension containing 24% w/v triclabendazole. For the treatment of acute, subacute and chronic infection due to triclabendazole susceptible Fasciola hepatica. Fasinex 240 is highly effective against all stages of F. hepatica from 2-week-old early immature forms to adult fluke. If infected animals are treated before disease has developed, fasciolosis can be prevented.

Dosage and administration
- Administer 5ml/100kg body weight, equivalent to 12mg triclabendazole per kg of body weight.
- Administer orally after thorough shaking of the suspension.
- Most types of automatic drenching guns are suitable.
Withdrawal periods
- Meat and offal: 52 days.
- Not for use in lactating cows producing milk for human consumption.
- Can be used in dry period but not within 48 days of calving.
- Milk for human consumption can only be taken 48 hours post calving, including from heifers.
- Should a cow calve earlier than 48 days after the last treatment, milk for human consumption can only be taken 50 days after the last treatment
Contra Indications
Care should be taken to avoid increasing the risk of developing resistance which could ultimately result in ineffective therapy. The efficacy of this product against liver fluke is reduced if triclabendazole-resistant strains are present.
Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst handling this product. Wash hands and exposed skin before meals and after work. In case of accidental spillage onto the skin or in the eyes, wash immediately with water. Take off any contaminated clothes.
