A Little About Us
We are a friendly close-knit team with a strong focus on peer support and professional clinical standards.
The workload consists of emergencies, fertility scanning (latest easy scan go scanners), bull fertility testing (Pulsator V), calf mortality/morbidity investigations, on-farm PMs, bovine embryo flushing and transfer, TB testing and heifer teat sealing.
Clinicians are encouraged to develop their abilities and experience in any area they find particularly interesting.
On-call rota is 1 in 4 with a generous holiday allowance.
The wage package is heavily tailored to the wants and needs of the applicant. A package based heavily on a shorter work week and more flexible hours is possible. Similarly, a package with a greater potential to earn a higher wage is also possible.
In the past, our employees have enjoyed the opportunity to spend their summers working in a New Zealand LA practice during their spring!
The employees of practice will also get the use of a Ravenhill Ulster rugby Season ticket.
There is a two-day CPD allowance and professional fees are paid by the practice.
Fully kitted van and accommodation are available.
Understanding Veterinary Burnout
Veterinary professionals are some of the most dedicated individuals in the healthcare field, but the nature of the job can often lead to burnout. Long hours, high-stress situations, emotional strain from dealing with sick or injured animals, and the pressure to provide excellent care day after day can take a toll on a vet’s physical and mental well-being.
Burnout is a real concern within the veterinary profession, leading to feelings of exhaustion, stress, frustration, and even emotional detachment. We recognize the challenges our team faces, and at Farm Vet Services, we are committed to creating an environment that helps prevent burnout, fosters job satisfaction, and supports long-term careers in veterinary medicine.
How We Combat Burnout
At Farm Vet Services, we understand that burnout can be a serious challenge for veterinary professionals. That’s why we’ve built a supportive environment focused on strong leadership, open communication, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Our leadership team is always approachable and values feedback from all staff members. We encourage open dialogue and welcome suggestions or concerns that can help make our work environment even better. This ensures that everyone feels heard and supported, allowing us to address challenges before they escalate into burnout.
In addition, we hold regular video meetings with our entire veterinary team, providing an opportunity for everyone to voice their concerns, share ideas, and collaborate on ways to improve our practice. These meetings foster a sense of community and allow us to proactively address any stressors, adjust workloads, and refine processes to ensure a balanced and healthy work environment for all.
By maintaining clear communication and team collaboration, we create a culture where everyone can contribute to shaping a positive workplace. This approach helps prevent burnout, ensuring that our team remains engaged, supported, and motivated.
At Farm Vet Services, we are dedicated to attracting and retaining top-tier veterinary talent. We understand that the best veterinary professionals are driven by a passion for animal care but also seek an environment that values their well-being and personal life. That’s why we’ve created a practice that prioritizes work-life balance, professional development, and employee satisfaction.
