An Electrolyte Powder for Calves and Pigs
Diarrhoea, or scouring, in young animals leaves them weak and dehydrated. Vital minerals and electrolytes are dissolved in the fluid they use and it’s vital to rehydrate the animals and replace those minerals and electrolytes. Sacrolyte offers a simple solution. It’s an electrolyte powder that you mix with water and feed to your animals twice a day for up to three days. It comes in single-dose sachets so you can feed it to isolated animals to make sure they’re restored to health as soon as possible.
Sacrolyte is a complete dietetic feeding stuff for the particular nutritional purpose of the stabilization of water and electrolyte balance in young calves and pigs. It contains predominantly electrolytes and easily absorbable carbohydrates. It may be used in case of, during periods of, or recovery from digestive disturbance (diarrhoea).
Dose & Administration
Sacrolyte is for oral use in calves and pigs. Add the contents of one 100g sachet to 2.5 litres (½ gallon) of water and mix thoroughly while adding. This amount should be fed twice daily. Occasionally it may be necessary to force-feed an animal. On day 3 day return animal to ½ normal feed and ½ Sacrolyte solution. Thereafter, return the animal to a normal diet.

Day 1 2.5 lit 2.5 lit to 10 pigs
Day 2 2.5 lit 2.5 lit to 10 pigs
Day 3 1.25 lit + ½ normal feed 1.25 lit + ½ normal feed to 10 pigs
Sacrolyte calf and pig is used to stabilise the water and electrolyte imbalance that occurs in pigs and calves during periods of stress, such as weaning or digestive disturbance (diarrhoea) during illness. Diarrhoea or scour prevents the absorption of fluids and essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements from the intestine. This leaves the scouring animal weak and dehydrated.
Sacrolyte is composed of easily absorbable carbohydrate, chelated minerals, vitamins and trace elements which offers a simple solution to replace these vital minerals and electrolytes lost during this period. It also possesses a unique gelling agent which has the ability to retain water and slows down the movement of undigested food through the gut.
